PERSONALITY

Everyone describes Jihyun as that friendly rich uncle that would pamper all of his niece and nephews. Jihyun is talkative and is easy to blend with everyone. He always has a topic to share, and is never afraid of engaging in any sort of conversations. This brought him much advantages as he began his career as the Managing Partner of SJ Consult Korea.Jihyun is a natural leader. He is charismatic, knows how to act and talk. He's very stern and serious when it comes to work, and is very ambitious and determine to please all of his clients. He's a workaholic who doesn't mind spending most of his time to work.Jihyun is a very wholesome individual. He's full of love, always taking care of everyone around him. This shows how he would push aside whatever he's doing if his family or friends need him in drastic measures. On his free time, he would also visit his nephew to just hang out with him.Despite everything mentioned above, Jihyun is the type to keep everything to himself. He dislikes showing his vulnerable side to anyone simply because his pride doesn't let him to. He's a great actor when it comes to hiding his feelings. Other than that, Jihyun easily gets bored in regards to anything, especially in a relationship. He craves excitement more than anything. However, he isn't the type to cheat. He's proven to be very loyal when he's madly in love with someone, but he's not afraid to cut off any relation if he thinks it brought no benefit for him whatsoever. Jihyun would fight until the last drop in trying to keep a relationship going, however when he's reached his limit, he'd leave immediately and would never turn around anymore. He never holds grudges, he will just simply pretend that you don't exist.

BACKGROUND

Born with a silver spoon, Jihyun didn't face much hardships in life that is related to money. He always had easy access for his studies, even when continuing his father's business. Right from the start, Jihyun was an excellent child. Being able to read and understand two languages at the same time when he was only five years old. He didn't like studying, however, he has a strong memory that helped him a lot when finishing his school assignments. Jihyun was never the best in class, but he was a jack of all trades.His father and mother were never in good terms, causing Jihyun to leave Manchester when he was only 8 years old. He went back to Korea, and his father claims that his mom had to stay in Manchester due to the illness she's trying to recover from. Because of this, he was left all alone and was neglected by both parents. Even so, he loved his mother dearly. Since she raised her with so much love until their parting. He believes that he was not really alone, always having his mother's love although she's not present physically. It broke his heart when his father announces her death a year after.Jihyun grew up with no love from his parents. He wasn't close to his big brother, since he's super quiet and had no intention to get close to Jihyun too. Due to this, Jihyun seeked company and comfort from someone else. Variating from friends, as well as flings that usually last no longer than a month. That, however, changed when he met Choi Yeonggi.Although he loves Yeonggi with all his heart, he can never truly open up to the lad. His past trauma where he had no one by his side to support him caused him to have trust issues to others. It was difficult, if not, impossible to gain Jihyun's trust. This caused the man to become fearful avoidant and ends up neglecting Yeonggi. He believes that if he leaves first, he will be okay. Jihyun likes to cover up his sadness by hanging out with friends and overworking himself, probably resulting in Yeonggi thinking that he chose his work and friends over Yeonggi. When in reality, it's just him not finding comfort in sharing his pain to others.Thinking that it's better for him to stay alone, he decided to break up with the lad. Only landing himself in another hell hole with Miyoung around one year after. His relationship with Miyoung was brief, and had major impact in his mental health due to Miyoung cheating on him. This made Jihyun furious and began questioning himself; thinking that he wasn't enough.Things were starting to go smoother as he met Arisa, a girl whom then he considers as his own daughter. Their relationship was once more than just friends, but less than a lover. He likes to picture her as his go-to person whenever he's lonely and in need of company.When things starts to calm down, Jihyun was met with another hardship that involves his parents. He found letters in his father's study room that expresses his mother's resentment over him. Telling Jihyun that it was his fault that her mother was ill. This caused Jihyun to break down and locked himself in his condo for a month; not wanting to meet anyone unless it was work-related. This issue began to become a talk between his colleagues and associates, leading to Yeonggi hearing about it.Though their relationship ended by this time, Yeonggi was the one who helped him out of his dark times. Claiming that it was just a "help from an old friend", not noticing that love was involved there. Jihyun began seeing therapists, variating from psychologists for daily control and a psychiatrist helping him with psychotherapy and meds. Jihyun was diagnosed with a mild case of Borderline Personality Disorder. This illness caused him to have depressive episodes every now and then, having trouble to focus at work, and building or maintaining relationships.After a few months of intense therapy, Jihyun felt like he was feeling a bit better, and his relationship with Yeonggi had grown better too as time passes. He thinks he was ready to start pursuing a romantic relationship again, so he asked Yeonggi to reconcile with him and even going as far as proposing the lad. Thankfully, the lad accepted his proposal and now they're planning to join hands in marriage.But before that, Jihyun believes there are matters that they need to finish first.
